Multile versions of a circuit in one project?

I am using Capture as a front end for PSPICE. I have version 17.2 and the latest hotfix. I am trying to figure out if it is possible to have mulktiple version of a circuit save togther in one project. I have not been able to get that to work. If I add a second schematic and try to simulate it, I get a message saying it isn't in the simulation hierarchy. If I look in the simulation profile, the schematic source field is grayed out so I can't change it.

I am used to ANSYS Maxwell where you can have a number or related models within one project but don't see how to get that to work with Capture.

Hello,

If I understood properly, you want to have different versions of a circuit in the same project. This would work if you have each version of this circuit in separate schematics. Then you have to define one simulation profile per schematic and you will have to select in each moment the active simulation profile and the root schematic, so that the proper circuit is simulated.

Example:

well I did some more messing with it. I found that I could get a simulation profile to use SCHEMATIC 2 but I had to use "make root" command first. That sort of works but I can only put markers on the root schematic. If I try to drop a maker on the non-root schematic I get a noninformative error box with an exclamation point in it. So it seems that whatever schamtic I want to simulate has to be made root before i can run it.

Hello,

Markers placed in an Schematic are related to a Simulation Pofile. It means, that the Simulation Profile and the Schematic must be Root.
