Hi,

It seems that it is not reproducible to each project and it does not happen always. So you mean, that sometimes you can work properly and other times it closes suddenly, am I right?

Hi Santiago,

Please check on this:

Just make sure that the file you're opening is not a schematic from a zip file. If that's the case it will crash. The file has to be unzipped first and then use it for simulation.

In my opinion it is quite strange, that it works only sometimes. It could be "easy" to find a solution if it does not work ever. But in your case it just works sometimes... I do not know how to solve this...

Similar simution here when trying to begin Capture.

I am using version 17.2 (2016) due to company restrictions this is the version only allowed here.

I've too the situation that pspice closes a soon as I  use the

PSpice -->  New Simulation Profile -->  enter a valid name, press "Create"

PSpice moans at start thart "Capture hase detected projects that were not properly closed, They will be automatically reloaded"  (I confirm this with OK).

Any idea to purge the message and make PSpice start ? TIA

Andreas

Could you tell me please, which Hotfix you are using? If you clik on Help --> About, you will find this information on the bottom of the popping window.

On the other side, do you have the same problem with another project? It seems to be a problem with this particular file, maybe some kind of data is corrupted.

About shows: 17.2-2016 S016 (v17-2-50BH) [3/20/2017] Windoes SPB 64-Bit Edition QIR 3 ISR 023

Seems that problem on every project now even on the ones that worked before: As soon as I start to edit the simulation profile, the programm crashes.

> maybe some kind of data is corrupted.

:-) that's what I think too. The problem is to identify which data .-)

Hi,

Is it possible for you to install the last Hotfix (53)?

What I meant with "maybe some data is corrupted" is that maybe some data in the project is corrupted. However, if you say that it happens in all of the projetcs, then the error is in another point.

However, what I do not understand is that it worked and suddenly and magically it does not work longer... :S

i've to check with IT department if admin rights are granted to install a hotfix. mihght take until monday to get permission.

Same do I.

If it helps to find a clue: During a long running simulation (at the tiem before the crash problem occured) after 2 hours of non-finishing the sim the program was interrupted by system shutdown. After the shutdown, the problem started to show up.

We can continue on monday, according to Service Request Number: 600039957 . may talking directly via phone makes it easier to find a solution.

TIA, and have a nice weekend.

Regards

Santiago and Andreas,

Please try this too, it worked for me when PSpice was not able to simulate the circuit

Close Capture and PSpice. Go to %HOME%\cdssetup\OrCAD_PSpice\17.2.0. (Delete the pspice.ini file)

Restart the program and try simulating again.

Solution in my case (after evalution and trying all other proposals) was a de-instal and fresh install of Pspice. Hotfix 53 was not necessary to re-establish functionality here.

We don't have a real clue why this happened here to lead to the crash, but if it re-occurs, I'll respond here.

Many THX to all for their help and contributions.
