Importing matlab signal to PSPICE

Hello everyone, hope you're doing great !

i'm using PSPICE to simulate a circuit and i want to use phase modulated signals as input, but can't do that on PSPICE Capture. I've generated phase modulated signals on Matlab and i want to use them as voltage sources on my schematic, is there way to do that ? Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, You can do that. You need to export the signal from MATLAB as csv or text file and use File-based stimulus source in PSpice. You can directly place a PSpice Stimulus symbol (FileSTIM1) from sourcstm.olb or use PWL Sources App (Place>PSpice Component > Sources >PWL Sources)

Thank you very much, but what is the file format ?

text or csv format.

thank you , but how the content of the file (samples values) will be organized ?

Hi,

You need two columns. The first one is the time and the secong the voltage or strom

I'm also attempting this with a csv file.

Whenever I try to run the simulation, I get an error: "ERROR(ORPSIM-15347): Cannot open input file"

I've tried (Place>PSpice Component > Sources >PWL Sources), which places a VPWL_GENERIC part. I've also tried a VPWL_FILE part, and I get the same error either way.

It's great to hear that you're working with PSPICE to simulate a circuit. Unfortunately, PSPICE Capture does not support phase modulated signals as input. However, you can still use the phase modulated signals that you generated on Matlab as voltage sources on your schematic.

To do this, you'll need to export the signals from Matlab in a compatible format, such as a CSV file papa's pizzeria. Then, you can import the CSV file into PSPICE and use it as a voltage source in your schematic.

The signals may be exported from Matlab into a CSV file or another file type that PSPICE can read. Following that, you can import the CSV file as a voltage source in PSPICE Capture by using the "File" option mapquest driving directions. As an alternative, you may import the data as a voltage source into PSPICE by selecting the "File" option after copying and pasting it from Matlab into a text editor and saving it as a ".txt" file.
