I already had a Pspice v16.6 license, but I wanted to check out the features of Pspice for TI and I have thus installed it.
Pspice v16.6 still works, except that when I try to place parts on the schematic from the searchable list appearing from the Menu ==> Place ==> Pspice Components ==> Search, it would no longer place any symbol ...
as if the Pspice for TI installation would have removed the reference to previously working Library paths from version 16.6 ... perhaps in some .ini file somewhere ?
As an example, here is the error in the Session Log when trying to place a 1N4148:
Placing symbol instance for Model 1N4148 failed because Library path ediode does not exist
However, it still works fine when instead placing parts from Menu ==> Parts ... and then picking the 1N4148 from the ediode library.
How can I get the "Menu ==> Place ==> Pspice Components ==> Search" way to place symbols back on the right PATH ?

Hi,
PSPice for TI shouldn't chagne the ini file version 16.6. It creates it own ini file at %home%\cdssetup\OrCAD_CaptureTIPSpice_Install\17.4.0, while the 16.6 ini will be at %home%\cdssetup\OrCAD_Capture\16.6.0.
Regarding the issue in 16.6 on part placement, check if CDSROOT is set correctly. You can use the Cadence SPB Switch release software to do so. If problem still persists, you can contact the Cadence Support on http://support.cadence.com for the issue on PSpice version 16.6.
Great ! thanks
indeed the Cadence SPB Switch release, after the installation of Pspice for TI was pointing to a directory inside the Pspice for TI installation.
Setting the entry back to PSpice version 16 cure the problem.
Cheers
Luca
Great..
