Convergence with VCO in a component

Hi All,

I have been trying to create a Model for a component(Switching Regulator) in which the frequency of switching can be controlled by an external resistor.

I have created a VCO model using a current source and able to vary the frequency of switching also based on the resistor value.

The problem I am facing is My component Model is not able to converge since I have an instability due VCO.

Can somebody give an idea of how to approach here to get a stable component Model.

Thanks

Convergence requires that curves be continuous, and the slope of the curve is continuous (first derivative).

You have to look at where the simulation is not converging...  if it's at t=0, (or the bias point calculation), then you might need to set an initial condition (voltage) to a net, thereby selecting a fixed topology of a switching circuit.

If you had an example, or the error from the pspice output file, that would provide more info on where to look...
