differentiating E and E_ABM elements

Hi everybody,

I'm new here and I even don't know whether this is the right sub group to post in, anyway I wonder what the difference between a E and E_ABM is.

In both cases it is possible to use equations, isn't it ?

Here is a concrete example (from a netlist):

The following elements do have only 2 nodes and a value(with an if-statement) instead of 4 nodes and a "normal value" , so are they ABM(E_ABM in this case) or just E-elements ?

E_EIL-       $N_0005 $N_0007 VALUE { IF(V(1_ION)>{ILN},10K*(V(1_ION)-{ILN}),0) }
E_EIL+       $N_0008 $N_0007 VALUE { IF(V(1_IOP)>{ILP},10K*(V(1_IOP)-{ILP}),0) }

So does this ABM element : E_ABM23      1_VR 0 VALUE { (V(V+)+V(V-))/2  }

Whereas this is what I consider a normal E-element: E_EP1        $N_0008 0 $N_0011 0 1

I hope this isn't a silly question.

E and G devices are extended forms of the voltage controlled voltage (E) and current (G) sources.  They have other forms of control besides the basic controlling pair of nodes.  Read more about them in the PSpice Reference Guide and the PSpice User's Guide.
