ERROR(ORPSIM 23001): Version 9 DAT not supported.

Hi,

I have got 12-month full license of Cadence software of version Cadence Orcad Allegro 17.2 -2016.

But whenever I am trying to do Matlab -> Export Selected Traces from PSpice A/D I am

getting the error  "ERROR(ORPSIM 23001): Version 9 DAT not supported."

Please help.

Hi Sarbani,

Could you please confirm if you have a Cadence OrCAD License or Cadence Allegro License? Both of them have PSpice Simulator inbuilt and require a separate license for using the PSpice -MATLAB-Simulink Interface- i.e. PSpice Systems Option license. Could you also confirm if you have this license in addition to the full Cadence OrCAD/ Allegro license?

Also, please make sure that you are running software on a 64-bit machine.

Please answer the above questions so that we can narrow down on the issue.

Thanks for your reply.

I have received only OrCAD student license file and I have installed Cadence OrCAD Release 17.2-2016 .

I have not received any other license file called PSpice Systems Option license.

How can I obtain the license file for PSpice Systems Option?

Also, I can confirm that the software is running on 64-bit Windows 10 machine.

Thanks

Sarbani Das

Hello,

I am not 100% sure, but I think you should send an Email to your channel partner to get the PSpice Systems Option license as a separate one. Could you tell me please in which country you are studying?

Hi,

I have contacted the channel partner and they are saying that there is no other license file other than the main installation one. These are the features are there in my license file:

FEATURE OrCAD_PSpice_Systems_Sim cdslmd 17.2 08-may-2020 1 \

                FE4E6828A190D08EE8C5 VENDOR_STRING=UHD:VAR_CDNMAGELLAN \

                DUP_GROUP=UHD vendor_info=08-may-2019 \

                ISSUER=CDNS8ca8697b035faedd452cede05f93727d ISSUED=08-may-2019 \

                SN=2019-05-08T03:31:30.029 SIGN2="12F0 6312 9953 364D 4F3C \

                1741" V7.1_LK=5E9E08283B29DC85E9CB

and with this feature I am supposed to have no issue with Matlab interface.

I am studying in UK. I am able to start Matlab from PSpice AD. Only when I am clicking 'Export Selected Traces' I am getting the above error.

Please help how I can get rid of this issue. I am using Matlab R2019 version and OrCAD and Allegro Products 17.20.054

Thanks

Sarbani

Hello,

Well, I think you also need this license OrCAD_PSpice_Systems_Visual. Could you ask them again or look at your license file if this features is included?

On the other side, could you tell me which MATLAB version you are using? You did not mention it previously.

This error may come if you are opening an dat file created with older version of PSpice and trying to export traces, or you have selected Probe data mode as 32 bit (if you have simulated a design with latest version of PSpice). Check Simulation Setup ->Data Collection Tab - Probe data - seelct 64 bit.
