How to assign a TCR value of a resistor in Capture.

I want to assign a TCR value of a resisitor in capture and it is given in PPM.

For example a resistor having a ppm value of +/-15%.

Hi

Kindly refer the document from vishay (Temperature Coefficient of Resistance for Current Sensing by Bryan Yarborough) which explains the calculation of TCR in % and in ppm. According to it, you can set TC as 1.5e-3.

In Cadence Capture, you can assign a Temperature Coefficient of Resistance (TCR) value to a resistor by specifying it in the component properties. The TCR value represents the change in resistance of the resistor with temperature.

To assign a TCR value to a resistor in Capture, follow these steps:

Place a resistor component on the schematic.
Double-click on the resistor to open the component properties dialog box.
Look for a field related to the TCR or temperature coefficient. It may be labeled as "TCR" or "Temp Coeff" or something similar.
Enter the TCR value in parts per million (PPM) in the appropriate field. In your example of a +/-15% TCR, you would enter 15000 PPM (positive or negative depending on the direction of the change).
Save the component properties and close the dialog box.
By specifying the TCR value for the resistor, you are providing information to the simulation tools about how the resistance of the component changes with temperature. This can be useful in analyzing and predicting the behavior of your circuit under different temperature conditions.

Remember to consult the documentation or user guide of your specific version of Capture for more detailed instructions, as the interface and terminology may vary slightly between different software versions.

To assign a TCR value to a resistor, you'll need to know the ppm/°C value associated with the resistor. The ppm value indicates the change in resistance per degree Celsius change in temperature.

Let's take your example of a resistor with a ppm value of +/-15%. In this case, the TCR value would be given as 15 ppm/°C (parts per million per degree Celsius). The positive and negative signs indicate the tolerance range for the TCR value.

To assign the TCR value in Capture, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open the schematic editor in Capture.
  2. Place a resistor symbol in the schematic to represent the resistor you want to assign the TCR value to.
  3. Double-click on the resistor symbol to open the properties dialog box.
  4. Look for the TCR or Temperature Coefficient property field in the dialog box.
  5. Enter the TCR value in ppm/°C (15 ppm/°C in your example) in the appropriate field.
  6. Save the changes and close the dialog box.

By assigning the TCR value to the resistor, you are specifying its temperature-dependent behavior. This information can be used for analysis and simulations, especially when studying the effects of temperature variations on circuit performance.

To assign a TCR (Temperature Coefficient of Resistance) value geometry dash to a resistor in Capture, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open the schematic in Capture and locate the resistor component to which you want to assign the TCR value.

  2. Double-click on the resistor to open its properties dialog box.

  3. In the properties dialog box, look for the parameter related to TCR. The name may vary depending on the specific resistor model or library you are using. It could be labeled as "TCR," "Temperature Coefficient," or something similar.

  4. Enter the TCR value in parts per million (PPM) in the appropriate field. In your example, for a resistor with a +/-15% TCR, you would enter "15,000" as the TCR value. The value is typically specified as the deviation from the nominal resistance per degree Celsius.

  5. Save the properties and close the dialog box.

By assigning the TCR value to the resistor component, you are specifying how the resistance of the resistor will change with temperature. The TCR value determines the resistance drift over temperature, allowing for more accurate calculations and simulations in your design.

Please note that the specific steps and terminology may vary slightly depending on the version of Capture you are using and the resistor library being utilized.

In the resistor properties dialog, you may find a field for TCR or Temperature Coefficient of Resistance. Depending on your resistor fnf online library and the component you selected, this field may have a different name. Enter the TCR value in PPM. For example, if your resistor has a TCR of +/- 15%, you can enter either 15000 or -15000, as Capture typically uses PPM with a positive or negative sign to represent TCR values.
