Hi Pspicers!
I am getting several errors, I think related to the configuration of Orcad / Pspice.
First time after starting windows, I can simulate without any issue some projects. However, after a while, windows as "RPC not available", "ORPSRVR-2004 File does not exist" - from AMS Simulation Manager, and" Orcad contains an invalid path" start appearing and the only solution is to restar windows again, or close completely all Orcad and Pspice tasks before reopen the programs again.
Any idea why this is happening? Orcad version is 16.6.
Many thanks in advance!

Hi,
This error can come in case pspice is not able to find a required simulation file.Check if you have moved or deleted any file from project location. Also open on a sample design accessible from <cadence installation folder>\tools\pspice\capture_samples and check if the problem is reproducible.
In event of getting RPC not available error message, you need to kill following processes in Windows Task Manager as you have been doing:
- capture.exe
- cdsMsgServer.exe
- cdsNameServer.exe
- pspiceexplorersrvr.exe
- simmgr.exe
- simsrvr.exe
- mrksrvr.exe

Hi Neha,
Many thanks!
I've realized the issue comes up when the project was done for Cadence 16.0 and is reopened with Cadence 16.6, so probably there are any files missing during the transfer.
Cheers,
Guto
Guto,
You can try removing the .obj file and then opening the .dsn file. This will force an new .obj file to be created.

Gil
You could delete the.obj file and then try to open the.dsn file. This will make sure that a new.obj file is made.
