SLPS Error

Hello there,

I am wondering whether anybody has a suggestion on the following issue:

I am trying to simulate a wind generator system in co-simulation with Simulink using SLPS.

I am using Cadence Release 17.2-2016, 64 bit Matlab R2019a on 64 bit Win10.

When I try to run an SLPS demo or a simulation I've put together, I always get the same error message:

Error while obtaining sizes from MEX S-function 'slpsblk' in 'RCMDL_SLPS/SLPS/S'.

Caused by:

  • SLPS ERROR: SLPS module is failed to load (psstub.dll).

I checked that the file exists within the "C:\Cadence\SPB_17.2\tools\pspice\slps" folder, I have installed SLPS correctly from Matlab and I checked that also have added to the Matlab PATH the following:

  • C:\Cadence\SPB_17.2\tools\pspice\slps
  • C:\Cadence\SPB_17.2\tools\bin
  • C:\Cadence\SPB_17.2\tools\pspice\capture_samples\SLPSdemos

Could aybody suggest where to start solving this problem?

Many thanks in advance,

Hunor

SLPS Block is no longer supported, you need to look at the CoSimulation examples and use the PSpice Block in MATLAB.

Hello Oldmouldy, thanks for the info, I was not aware. Do you know if SLPS block is supported in any of the earlier versions of the Matlab or Cadence System?

thanks, Hunor

The SLPS Block is the "legacy" method for this and didn't support a symmetrical connection between PSpice and MATLAB. The later method supports instantiating a PSpice Block in MATLAB, rather than an SLPS Block, and calling MATLAB functions from PSpice. 16.6 was the last version that supported the SLPS Block but that would never have been tested with MATLAB 2019, although, it might still work.
