When trying to launch PSpice from Design Entry CIS the tool seems to hang?

 

Problem

 

Simulating a design or opening a pspice project takes a long time. I get ‘communicating with server’ message for few minutes 
 

Solution

 

Once of the problem can be PSpice license checkout time. To check this, Close Capture and PSPice. Now try opening PSpice stand alone and see if it is taking time. If it takes longer than usual, it can be due to license checkout time. In this case, try the following; 

1. Invoke PSpice 


2. Go to File > Change product. This opens Cadence Product choices dialogue box 


3. If there multiple options, select the license who want to use 


4. Check ‘Use as default’ checkbox. 


5. Click OK 


6. Now close PSpice and try invoking it again. It must be faster than before.
