How do I copy paste waveforms from PSpice probe to a word document?

Answer

Waveforms from Probe can be copied into MS Word, WordPad or MS Power Point using the Window > Copy to Clipboard option in PSpice. To do copy-paste of waveforms follow below mentioned steps:

 1.  After simulation run is complete display the waveform in probe using the Trace > Add trace command.

 2.  From Window menu select "Copy to Clipboard". The Copy to Clipboard window pops up.

 3.  The option checked by default is “Use screen colors”. Click OK, this will copy the image on to clipboard. Paste the waveform into required word document.

You can select the following options depending on the desired display:

          a.  Background > make window and plot backgrounds transparent. Use this option to retain the word document page color as background for your waveforms

          b.  Foreground > Change white to Black or change all colors to black in conjunction with background >make window and plot backgrounds transparent allows you to have a black and white document.

Tip :Turn off the "Output window" and the "Simulation status window" from View. This improves the image size while pasting the waveform

 4.  Additional step required if you are copy pasting waveform to MS Power Point (2007 or higher version) and want to retain waveform colors as displayed in probe window:

          a.  In PSpice, do Window > Copy to Clipboard > select "Use screen colors"

          b.  In MS office , open a PowerPoint slide and select HOME tab

          c.  Goto Paste > Paste special >select "Picture (Enhance metafile)"

          d.  This would paste the waveform with its colors retained.
