I am using SPB 16.6 and have added customized entries to pspice.ini file located at <Cadence installation folder>\tools\pspice.These customizations include adding Mathexceptions=OFF,specifying alternate library paths and changing Background foreground colors. However all my customizations are lost and I do not see any change in simulation profile setup or probe window.
Release 16.6 onwards, apart from installation folder a copy of pspice.ini is saved at SITE level and from this location pspice.ini read/write happens.User should add all the customizations to this pspice.ini file.To get the location from where pspice.ini file is read, launch PSpice and do View > Command Window. In Command window type GetIniPath. This shows the location from where pspice.ini file is picked.
The rule guiding the location of SITE level pspice.ini file is:
1. By default pspice.ini read/write happens from HOME environment variable. To check if you have HOME variable set or not go to My Computer > Right mouse click Properties >Advanced > Environment Variable > User Variable and check if HOME is defined or not.
If HOME is defined then pspice.ini is picked from location %HOME%\cdssetup\OrCAD_PSpice\16.6.0
For example: HOME points to C:\SPB_Data.Then pspice.ini is picked from location C:\SPB_Data\cdssetup\OrCAD_PSpice\16.6.0
2.If HOME is not defined then pspice.ini is picked from %USERPROFILE%\cdssetup\OrCAD_PSpice\16.6.0
3.If HOME variable is not defined and pspice.ini is not present at %USERPROFILE%\cdssetup\OrCAD_PSpice\16.6.0
It will be picked from %CDS_SITE%\cdssetup\OrCAD_PSpice\16.6.0
4.If pspice.ini is not present under any of the above 3 locations then it is picked from <cadence installation folder>\tools\pspice based on %CDSROOT%.
