ERROR(ORPSIM-16152): Invalid number

Hi everyone,

I'm struggling with an "invalid number" error in PSpice A/D, which I couldn't resolve by myself :(

The message I get looks like this:

*Libraries:
* Profile Libraries :
* Local Libraries :
* From [PSPICE NETLIST] section of C:\trololololololololo\SPB_Data\cdssetup\OrCAD_PSpice/16.6.0/PSpice.ini file:
.lib "nom.lib"

*Analysis directives:
.DC LIN PARAM V(UGS) -3V -0.1V 0.05V
----------------$
ERROR(ORPSIM-16152): Invalid number
.OPTIONS ADVCONV
.PROBE64 V(alias(*)) I(alias(*)) W(alias(*)) D(alias(*)) NOISE(alias(*))
.INC "..\SCHEMATIC1.net"

**** INCLUDING SCHEMATIC1.net ****
* source DESIGN1
G_G1         N00157 0 VALUE { -{IDSS}*PWR(1-V(N00148,0)/{Up},2) }
V_UGS         N00148 0  AC 10mA
+SIN -1V 0.5V 1k 0 0 0
R_R1         0 N00157  1k TC=0,0
.PARAM  up=-3v idss=12ma

**** RESUMING JFET1.cir ****
.END

It's a quite simple cirquit with a resistor, a sinusoid voltage source, a param element from the special library and a GValue element from the ABM library. The simulation profile is a DC-Sweep which raises the Source from -3V to -0.1V.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Oli

What type of simulation you want to do?

Do you want to do DC Sweep and want to sweep V_UGS?

Or You want to do time domain analysis, and you would like to sweep Sinusoidal voltage source amplitude from -3 to 0.1 in step of 0.05 voltage, meaning do transient analysis where  (V_UGS) = -0.3, then -0.295 and then 0.290 and so on?

Current simulation setup is incorrect, in order to sugget correct setup, one need to understand the goal.

tiny fishing offers a deep sea with many fish. You even can change many hooks.

What kind of simulation are you interested in running?

Is sweeping V_UGS part of your DC sweep plan?

It seems like you're encountering an "invalid number" error in PSpice A/D while running a simulation. This error often occurs Retro Bowl when there's an issue with numerical values or parameters in your circuit. Check your circuit carefully, especially the parameters of the components and the sweep range of your simulation profile. There might be a value or setting that's causing the error.
