[SOLVED] Instance U1: not found in the configured libraries

Hi everyone,

I have created a .OLB file from a .lib with PSpice Model Editor with no error messages. After adding the new library, I am able to place the new part in my design. However, just after placing the part I get the following warning message:

Instance U1: not found in the configured libraries

Here is a detailed explanation of my problem:

I have a Spice model corresponding to a gate driver, called GateDriver.lib.

GateDriver.lib includes several subblocks definitions (ix4340, GT_DVR, SL_HYS, SL_HYS_PCT, DLY and DLY_RS) and models (NHV, PHV, dd)

I use PSpice Model Editor 17.4 to convert GateDriver.lib into GateDriver.OLB in order to be able to use it in an OrCAD project and simulate it with PSpice (OrCAD_EE_Designer_Plus 17.4-2019 Trial Edition)

In PSpice Model Editor I use Model Import Wizard to carry out the conversion from .lib to .OLB.

In the conversion process, it detects several models (the subblocks and models mentioned above)

I do not have any symbol for the subblocks, so I let the tool to assign default rectangular symbols.

Conversion finishes apparently with no errors:

Then in OrCAD Capture CIS I add the new library, Gatedriver.olb. I select it and all the mentioned models are available for use:

I select IX4340 and include it in the design. However, I get the warning message:

Instance U1: not found in the configured libraries

Any future attempt to simulate the circuit will fail.

I would appreciate any help on this. Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Did you add the GateDriver.lib file in the simulation profile? If not, do the same and then try to simulate it. Adding the library should also remove the warning you highlighted in red.

Hi @Himss, that's exactly right, I didn't think of adding the library to the simulation profile configuration. Thanks a lot for your comment.
